June 17, 2026 (Tulsa, OK) – Hillcrest Hospital South held a ribbon-cutting event for a new outpatient surgery center June 17. The newly renovated 17,000 square-foot center will allow patients to receive necessary surgical procedures in a peaceful, spa-like environment that includes recliners for procedure preparation. The location has a separate, covered single-level entrance making it easy to find and access.
“The patient experience is of the utmost importance to us here at Hillcrest South,” said Laura Hennum, CEO of Hillcrest South. “We know that South Tulsa needs and deserves excellence and that’s what we provide. This is the point of most possibility; where we can imagine patients coming and having ease of access.”
The primary types of surgeries that will take place there will be ear, nose and throat, as well as gynecology, urology, orthopedics, and pain management, among others. The new space will also allow for greater operating room efficiency with 20-minute turn around times. This new space includes four operating rooms, two procedure rooms, and nearly 20 pre- and post-operative bays for procedure prep and recovery.
“This facility represents much more than a new building, it reflects Hillcrest South’s commitment to growth, innovation and excellence in patient care,” said Jean-Maria Langley, DO, chief of surgery at Hillcrest South, who will perform the first procedures in the new center at the end of June. “As a surgeon there is nothing more gratifying than seeing a vision for better patient care become a reality.”
