Breast cancer screenings

Did you know that 75% of women diagnosed with breast cancer have no family history or are not considered high risk? Standard mammography can miss up to 50 percent of cancers present in women with dense breasts. 3D mammography is the most advanced technology in breast cancer detection and is available at the Leta M. Chapman Breast Center located at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

No referral is necessary for screening and most insurances now cover 3D mammography exams. For patients whose insurance does not cover 3D technology, the added costs beyond traditional mammograms can still be affordable. Be sure to check with your insurance for coverage rates. Please call the Leta M. Chapman Breast Center at (918) 294-4700 to schedule your mammogram.

Gynecologic oncology

Over 80,000 times per year, a woman in the United States is diagnosed with gynecologic cancer, and about 26,000 women will die this year as a result. Gynecologic oncology is a medical specialty that deals with the study and treatment of malignancies arising in the female reproductive tract.

The ovary, endometrium, cervix, vulva, and vagina are where the most common and serious gynecological malignancies occur. Gynecologic oncologists are cancer specialists trained in the biology and pathology of gynecologic cancers. Whether you’ve just received a cancer diagnosis or have come into remission, our oncologists will ensure continuous patient care tailored to your individual needs.

Urological care

Urinary incontinence is uncontrollable leakage of urine from the bladder. Women experience urinary incontinence twice as often as men due to pregnancy, childbirth, menopause and the physical structure of the female urinary tract. The causes of urinary incontinence are treatable and frequently curable, but women need to see a physician for help.

Treatments include exercise, electrical stimulation, biofeedback, timed maintenance, medication, pessaries, implants, catheterizations, and advanced surgical procedures. Our urologists and gynecologists are trained in the latest incontinence treatments and will work diligently to find a treatment that works for you.

Urogynecologic surgery

Urogynecology oncologists are cancer specialists trained in the biology and pathology of gynecologic cancers and ensure continuous patient care as opposed to the disjointed care of several different specialists.

We are pleased to offer the da Vinci robotic surgical system as an advanced option to help treat urogynecological problems and malignancies. With this minimally invasive surgical and robotic technology, surgeons operate through a few small incisions and view the patient through a magnified 3D high-definition vision system. The important thing to note is that the surgeon is in control of the da Vinci system, which allows for greater control and preciseness. Da Vinci is considered the number one minimally invasive choice for hysterectomy procedures in the U.S.
