About Xuyen Ha, D.O.
Dr. Ha began to study medicine after wrapping up his military career that lasted nearly 10 years with the air force. “I believe that God called on me to serve others,” he said. This mission guided him to join as the number of troops in the middle east surged in 2007. Dr. Ha feels the calling has led him to continue his service as a physician with hopes to be able to train and teach the next generation of doctors.
Dr. Ha says that when working with patients, he emphasizes the importance of shared decision making. "Not all treatments, exercise regimens or diets is going to work for each individual patient," he said. His goal is to work with patients, to work as a team to come to an agreement and set achievable health goals.
When Dr. Ha is not working at the clinic, he can be found gardening or tending to his fruit trees. One day, he hopes to take his calling and skills of serving others to countries and people who need the assistance.

I haven't been with Dr. Ha very long but he has already become my favorite Doctor I've ever had. It's kind of hard to explain but he acts like a friend who cares about your problems and not a doctor who wants to get you in and out. He pulls up pictures on his computer and shows me exactly what he's talking about instead of assuming I understand medical lingo. He talks me through everything he's thinking and what we need to go going forward while also considering everything I have to say. A true gem of a doctor.

Dr. Ha did an outstanding job of evaluating my Mom's condition and determining the medications she needed. He was particularly careful about avoiding any potentially negative drug interactions.

Dr. Ha has come a long way. When I first saw him, he seemed rushed and would continue typing into the computer while we were talking. I had to specifically ask him to stop and look at me and have a real conversation. But during my appt on Feb 28, he typed in his notes, then turned to have a thorough discussion with me on my medications, looking me directly in the eyes. He even drew a diagram to explain the function of my blood pressure medication.

I liked that I was able to establish a good conversation with Dr Ha. It can be hard to establish a sense of trust with a new doctor as many seem focused on getting patients processed quickly. Dr Ha had good intuition about my concerns and even though I had some difficulty describing my condition, his empathy was clearly seen and made me feel much more comfortable talking about it and I felt that I was in good hands.

Originally, Dr. Ha typed into his computer when I spoke, only half listening to me, so I stopped speaking until he was finished typing. He told me he could multitask & that the appt would take too long if he didn't. I told him I believe that eye contact is important during interactions, and ultimately, he stopped typing, looked directly at me & really listened.
