Terri Wilson, APRN-CNP, specializes in otolaryngology medicine, also known as ear, nose and throat (ENT), at Utica Park Clinic. Terri’s advice to her patients is, “Think about where you want to be in one year and let me assist you in finding the best way for YOU to reach that goal.”

Terri’s decision to specialize in ENT medicine came about after years of experience working with all ages and various specialties. From working in women’s health and the NICU for 12 years to doing house calls and being in a family clinic, her knowledge is all-encompassing to best serve and meet her patients’ needs.

When it comes to Terri’s professional areas of interest, she said she is most intrigued by the least invasive and most effective interventions that have the greatest benefits. She said this also includes, “Incorporating interventions to affect the physical, psychological and spiritual well-being of each person.”

Terri values the connections with her patients and does her best to listen and relate to each individual. “I am naturally curious and love finding common ground with individuals, building a rapport with the patient first and then with family. Patients are often talked over, or about when a caregiver is present, but I choose to focus first on the individual, and let them know they are my priority,” she said.

Her inspiration to pursue a career in medicine began with her family. She said, “I have two aunts who were nurses, and well respected by family and their communities. All three of my sisters became nurses at different times in their lives, and I followed. My oldest sister became a nursing educator, and my next oldest sister became a heart-lung-liver transplant specialty nurse, then my youngest sister became a family nurse practitioner. After 23 years of nursing practice, I became a family nurse practitioner. We also have a nephew who is a physician, a niece who is an LPN, her sister who is an occupational therapist and a niece who is a social worker. It runs in the family.”

When Terri isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She adds, “My husband Carlos is my best friend, and greatest encourager: he feels like he should've gotten an honorary nursing degree after helping me get through school. He and I are Rhema Bible College graduates and serve in various forms of ministry. I play keyboard and sing, and my husband teaches. We have two children and four grandchildren who are our greatest loves. I train my Australian shepherd in agility and just enjoy her often excessive energy. My husband and I also enjoy traveling, going on cruises and having friends over for fun and games. My favorite games are Aggravation and Maffia.”
