Stroke rehabilitation
Every patient’s recovery and rehabilitation is important to us. That’s why the Kaiser Rehabilitation Center at Hillcrest Medical Center offers comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation services. Before being discharged, our stroke care coordinator will meet with each patient and caregiver to discuss topics associated in the recovery process. Some of these topics include care at home following a stroke and how to reduce your risk of having another stroke. After your discharge from OSNI, your doctor may recommend inpatient care at our rehab center.
Neurosurgery
Hillcrest is at the forefront of neurosurgical procedures, specializing in state-of-the-art services that include brain surgery, spinal surgery, and various neurological disorder treatments. Our facility is equipped with advanced technologies such as the O-Arm, StealthStation, and Visualase systems, revolutionizing minimally invasive procedures in neurosurgery.
The O-Arm and StealthStation systems collaborate seamlessly to provide our surgeons with detailed, real-time imaging and navigation during surgeries. The O-Arm, a sophisticated surgical imaging device, captures continuous multi-dimensional views of the surgical area. These images are then transmitted to the StealthStation navigation system, allowing for unprecedented precision in tracking surgical instruments during procedures.
Visualase technology represents a significant leap in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-guided laser ablation techniques. This method targets and eradicates unwanted brain tissue with exceptional accuracy using a laser applicator. For our patients, this often means experiencing shorter surgeries compared to traditional open surgeries. Additionally, benefits of Visualase surgery include minimal to no hair removal, a single-stitch suture, reduced time in the hospital, and significantly less scarring.
At Hillcrest, we are committed to providing our patients with the most advanced, minimally invasive options for brain surgery, spinal surgery, and treatment of neurological disorders, ensuring a quicker recovery and better outcomes.
