About Amber Mendez, APRN-CNP
Amber Mendez, APRN-CNP, specializes in family medicine at Utica Park Clinic (UPC) in Bartlesville. Besides primary care, her professional areas of interest include women’s health, as well as supporting patients and families through end-of-life care.
Amber has always had a deep desire to walk with people through their most vulnerable moments and to find a way to provide support. She said, “Helping others discover ways to live their healthiest, most fulfilling lives is what inspired me to go into medicine.”
Amber decided to become a family medicine nurse practitioner because she enjoys caring for people at every stage of life. “Being able to grow with my patients and support their health over time is something I value deeply.”
Amber understands the importance of trust and transparency with each patient visit. That is why she makes it a priority to build relationships with patients by, “…creating a welcoming, non-judgmental environment and taking the time to truly listen.” She adds, “I want patients to feel heard, respected and involved in their care, so I focus on open communication and consistent follow-up.”
“My favorite advice to give patients is to focus on small, sustainable habits. Big changes don’t happen overnight, but small steps - done consistently - can transform your health,” said Amber.
When Amber isn’t working, she enjoys going on new adventures with her husband and supporting all of their kids in their activities.
