Pregnancy

Stacy S.

An accident left Stacy confined to a wheelchair. But it was no accident that she chose Hillcrest Hospital South for the delivery of her second daughter. The nurses and physicians at Hillcrest Hospital South had the expertise to handle the challenges of someone giving birth with spinal cord injuries. They provided the compassionate care that Stacy needed after she was admitted at only 8 months. During her month of bedrest, the staff went above and beyond to make sure the whole family was well taken care of until they all returned safely home.

Crystal & Ian (Fuzzy)

Crystal’s second pregnancy had its share of challenges. Uncontrollable high blood pressure, two seizures, an emergency c-section, and a three-pound baby boy born nearly two months early. Throughout her pregnancy, Crystal was grateful she had the knowledgeable and compassionate doctors and nurses from Hillcrest Hospital Claremore’s New Beginnings Birthing Center and the Peggy V. Helmerich Women’s Health Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), who stood by her side throughout it all.

Brooke, Sawyer, Mickey & Evan P.

Brooke and Mickey were fortunate to become parents twice in two years. They met their adopted son, Evan, in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at the Peggy V. Helmerich Women’s Health Center at Hillcrest Medical Center. After bringing Evan home, Brooke soon learned she was pregnant. And, exactly one year to the day after Evan was born, the family welcomed Sawyer. The boys spent a combined 139 days in the same NICU. Thanks to the compassionate and knowledgeable team who surrounded them, today the boys are healthy, energetic and happy.

Blake & Courtney C.

It was heart-breaking news. Their unborn son had been diagnosed with an inoperable life-limiting condition. Blake and Courtney vowed to make Silas’ life, though short, precious and peaceful. They met with a team from the Peggy V. Helmerich Women’s Health Center at Hillcrest Medical Center who helped the family build a birth plan that would allow Silas to experience only love and comfort during his time on Earth.

Ryan, Juniper & Megan

A diagnosis of high-blood pressure led Megan to be hospitalized several times during her pregnancy. While any complication is stressful, first-time mom Megan found reassurance and comfort in her providers at the Peggy V. Helmerich Women’s Health Center at Hillcrest South. When it was time to deliver, Megan was surrounded by a supportive team. And when baby Juniper had to spend a few extra nights in the hospital, the team did everything they could to accommodate the family.

George, Robb, Jack & Natalie M.

Natalie was in shock when she delivered Jack and George, her twin boys, at just 25 weeks into her pregnancy. She and her husband, Robb, had so many questions about why this happened and the health of their babies. But, the couple found comfort in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) team at the Peggy V. Helmerich Women’s Health Center at Hillcrest Medical Center. From reassuring the new parents, to celebrating the boys’ milestones, the NICU team quickly became an extension of their family.

Gracelynn & Kylee S.

Kylee has had brain surgery, so when she learned she was pregnant, her excitement quickly turned to caution. After speaking with her doctor, she learned a c-section would be the safest option for delivery. Although disappointed she couldn’t have a natural childbirth, she understood it was for the best. Fortunately, the Peggy V. Helmerich Women’s Health Center at Hillcrest Medical Center offers gentle c-sections, allowing Kylee and daughter, Gracelynn, to bond immediately after birth.

Brandy & Hannah

Brandy and Isaiah were excited to start their family. They thought they had three more months to prepare, but their baby girl arrived prematurely. Surrounded by the 24-hour loving care of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) staff at the Peggy V. Helmerich Women’s Health Center, feisty little Hannah has made her opinions known from day one, and has changed her parents’ lives forever.
