I’m giving a 3 star review because the discharge experience was not the best. My dad had a partial knee replacement with Dr. Luessenhop at Tulsa Spine and Specialty on 12/27/23 and was discharged the next day 12/28/23 around 4pm. Prior to his discharge my dad saw Dr. Lussenhop’s PA, and she provided the order for him to discharge. However, she did not order him any pain medication for his discharge home. The only medication that was sent to the pharmacy was Aspirin. This is vital mishap because having pain medication is apart of his recovery. In order for my dad to do his knee exercises, rehab, and get him back to his baseline prior to surgery, having pain relief is important. When this issue was discussed with the discharge nurse at Tulsa Spine & Specialty about this, she told us that if we did not receive a message from the pharmacy about the pain medication by 5pm then to call Dr. Luessenhop’s office on call person. Which we did call and left a message with no response. So my dad went all night with no pain meds. And then when my family called today (12/29/23) to see about the pain medication, they pretty much stated they couldn’t help my father and that the hospital should not have discharged my dad from the hospital until the pain meds were ordered. And they also said all they could do was send messages to the doctor. And so my family asked the office staff person when to call back if they didn’t receive the script for the pain med and the person on the phone was very loud and rude stating the she could not help us and that all they could do was send messages. To me, as a medical professional myself (Registered Nurse) this is very unprofessional considering the situation my father is in. I would never talk to someone this way or their family after having a surgery, especially when there was obvious poor communication between Dr. Luessenhop and his staff. Eventually, we did get ahold of the discharge nurse (Stephanie) at Tulsa Spine & Specialty and she seemed to be the only person that was willing to help. We did get the pain medication sent to the pharmacy, but they also did not set up the home health or arrange for him to get his CPM machine until we called. I would hate to have had a surgery on a Thursday because I feel like this could have escalated to him not having any medications for a whole weekend. Hopefully, this is a learning experience and will not happen in the future.

Very professional staff. Make you feel welcomed. Dr. Luessenhop was very professional, listened to me, and heard me. Explained the x-rays thoroughly with me. Then he explained in detail what my knee replacement would entail, from start to finish. Then asked if I had questions, which I did. He answered every one. I told him I'd probably think of more, his response was to call his office and he would answer my questions. Best Dr. Experience I've ever had. I give Dr. Luessenhop and his staff ten Stars. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐!!

Dr. Luessenhop has been amazing to me since becoming his patient. He makes sure my needs are met at every appointment I have had with him since April. He has great bedside manner & very knowledgeable when it comes to fractures in the arm/elbow. I appreciate him & all of his help with me since fracturing my arm/elbow in April.

I had a partial knee replacement on my left knee in February. Has a total on my right in September! I’m back plumbing again . I like his no nonsense approach! And the staff are very accommodating! I would definitely recommend. I feel like I’m beginning to get a new lease on life. So far one of the best decisions I’ve made in a while.

He took very good care of me ,and Ordered An MRI within 3 days. I had surgery within the week. I had a pretty bag kneecap in a meniscus tear. With severe arthritis. The hospital staff was great I had problems breathing so they had to intubate me. They made sure that I was safe and I left the hospital all-in-one piece. He is always very good at seeing me when I have pains and a major problem. He is a great doctor and I would highly recommend him and his staff at Hillcrest hospital. It's pretty scary to find out that they put you on a ventilator but I was a good hands because I'm writing this review.

I love the care that Dr luessenhop,and his staff has to offer their patients ..and Dr luessenhop,performed surgery on me and I can now walk again and I don't have anymore swellen in my leg and I have a scare but it's fadeing away very quickly thanks Dr luessenhop,and Mrs Ashley,for all you both have done for me and still doing for me. .and I would prefer anyone who is needing bone surgery to you both..once again a very special thanks to you and your staff ......

Dr. Christian Luessenhop has been my orthopedic specialist for years. He is Tulsa’s finest. He is most definitely an A++ physician. He truly cares for his patients.
