Chad Crawley, D.O., has practiced orthopedics in Oklahoma since 2007. He was board certified in 2012 and completed fellowship training in 2015. Patient comments about him include:
"I was anxious about getting an injection but Dr. Crawley and his staff put me at ease and made me feel like family. Dr. Crawley and Clint were exceptionally kind and helpful. I felt I was very prepared for this surgery by the doctor and the materials provided by his staff. All of my questions and concerns were addressed."
"Dr. Crawley was knowledgeable, listened to my questions and concerns, and made sure he answered all my questions. He made me feel like he cared about giving me the best experience. I have the utmost confidence in his abilities to fix my health issues."
"I should have had my hip replaced five years ago. He is the BEST and I trust him!"
Prior to joining Utica Park Clinic, Dr. Crawley cared for patients in McAlester, OK and at Central States Orthopedics in Tulsa. He welcomes the opportunity to help you with any general orthopedic concerns and he is particularly skilled in the areas of:
- Total hip replacement (via a unique, direct anterior approach)
- Total and partial knee replacement
- Revisions of total hip and knee replacement
- Treatment of infected joint replacements of the hip and knee, and
- Robotic-assisted joint replacement
One of Dr. Crawley's area of expertise is total hip replacement. His direct anterior (front) approach to hip replacement has many benefits over the more traditional – lateral (side) or posterior (back) – approaches. This cutting-edge technique has attracted patients from across Oklahoma and the multi-state region who take advantage of the benefits, including:
- Less discomfort and pain
- Shorter recovery time
- Lower risk of limb length differences
- Lower dislocation risk
“Following their hip surgery,” Dr. Crawley says, “most patients are walking with assistance only a few hours after the procedure. Generally, patients can return home a day after their surgery or even the same day.” Dr. Crawley was fellowship trained in the direct anterior approach hip replacement technique. He has performed or assisted on over 1,000 procedures of this type. He has also served as a preceptor in teaching other surgeons on the details and technical aspects of the direct anterior hip replacement. He uses it on almost all of his primary total hip replacements. When it comes to your health and well being, experience matters. For more information, read the blog.
Dr. Crawley earned his Bachelor of Science degree in physiology from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater in 1997. He received his medical degree from the Oklahoma State University (OSU) College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa in 2002. He completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency with Pinnacle Health System at Community General Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 2003 and 2007, respectively. He completed his orthopedic fellowship training at Bone & Joint Hospital/ McBride Orthopedic Hospital in Oklahoma City in 2015.
He is a member of the American Association of Hip & Knee Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Association of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Association, and the Tulsa County Medical Society.
Dr. Crawley’s personal interests include ranching, collecting American muscle cars and attending OSU sporting events. He served in the Oklahoma Army National Guard from 1998 until 2004 and in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard from 2004 until 2006.

Dr Chad Crawley was the Best. Explain everything what he was going to do during the surgery. Explain what to do and not do after the follow-up. The Best knee and hip doctor I know. I would use him again.

I will say I love doctor crawley he has help me when I was in my wreck in 10-10-10 he made the professional decision to send me to okc to the ou medical center due to the fact that he didn't have the medical equipment to remove my mental plate in my hip if he had the equipment he would have done it in mcalester at the mcalester regional health center and I wouldn't have to go to Oklahoma city the only complaint I have is when I sleep on left my hip, my right hip goes numb I can't figure out why my left hip goes numb when I lay on my right side

My name is Richard Simons like Simon says and I want people to know just how GREAT Dr Crawley and the whole team at Utica Park orthopedics are. I have needed my knee replacement since the late 90’s and finally have had it done. From initial visit to completion I have been treated as a patient not just a number. To give you an idea of how many orthos ive been to, I’m 197.9% permanent partial disabled adjudicated by work related injury. I’m also disabled through my service, 86-94 Army, now on SSI due to all combined injuries. I’ve seen many orthopedic surgeons and non surgeons. I didn’t make this decision lightly and I’m far better for it. Dr Crawley is hands down the best. As a patient I wouldn’t refer anyone to another Dr. if you’re looking for the best I can only hope that you have him because of his high standards he puts on himself. He truly wants to heal you so you only see him once. His passion comes out in the OR and his competence is just stellar. I recommend him and his team of professionals to heal you not just treat you. Thank you for your time
