Ammie Kelley, APRN-CNP

Ammie Kelley, APRN-CNP, practices medical oncology (cancer care). She has worked in the health care industry in Tulsa since 2000. She cared for patients at Hillcrest Medical Center from 2017 until 2019 and worked at Cancer Treatment Centers of America for more than three years prior to that.

Ammie’s initial interest in health care stemmed from having the privilege to help people in a vulnerable state. She has consistently been impressed by the evolution of medical oncology. “We are helping people in an important way,” she says. “The latest treatments use newer drugs that are specific to each patient’s disease and are resulting in better clinical outcomes.”

Ammie is a proponent of treating the entire body. She believes that understanding the whole patient is critical to healing, quality of life and trust development. “Quite simply, patients don’t perceive themselves as a collection of illnesses or a sum of their disease,” she says. “A patient’s health is personal and interconnected with individual perceptions, experiences and beliefs.”

Ammie graduated from the Kramer School of Nursing in Oklahoma City in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She earned a Master of Science degree as a nurse practitioner from Graceland University in Independence, Missouri in 2018.

She is a member of the American Nurses Association, the Oklahoma Nurses Association, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Northeastern Oklahoma Oncology Nursing Society and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Ammie’s personal interests include spending time with family, traveling, reading and playing with her two boxers.
