Cheryl Sauvie, APRN-CNP, provides support for Utica Park Clinic general surgeons at Hillcrest Medical Center. She has worked in the health care industry in the Tulsa area since 2002. “Because of the complexity of individuals in general, I practice a holistic approach to health care, addressing both physical and spiritual issues with each patient,” she says.
Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, she spent most of her nursing career in intensive care units. “I enjoy helping other people,” she explains. When she was a nursing student years ago, she spent a summer gaining experience in general surgery. “That had a lasting impression. I intend to focus my career on caring for patients that are in need of surgery.”
To help her patients get healthy and stay healthy, she tells them, “stay active but remember the importance of moderation in everything.”
Cheryl earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at the University of Tulsa in 2002. She completed a Master of Science degree as a family nurse practitioner at Kaplan University in Davenport, Iowa in 2015. She is a member of the Association of Oklahoma Nurse Practitioners and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the international honor society of nursing.
Cheryl’s personal interests include painting, reading and traveling.
